Nature Adventures: Duck, Duck, Goose
Thursday, March 3 and Friday, March 4, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
2s & 3s Outdoors: Playful Prairie Dogs
Thursday, March 10 and Friday, March 11, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
Building for the Birds
Saturday, March 6, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Build a nesting box for common backyard birds and learn who they are and their calls with an indoor lesson and guided hike. An adult able to handle tools must accompany children. Bring a hammer and pliers if you have them. Other materials provided. $12 per non-member box, $10 per member box. Prepaid reservations required.
Active Adults: Full Worm Moon Lecture & Hike
Friday, March 18, 7::00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Join us for an indoor discussion of the science behind moon phases and the reason for full moon names. The enjoy a guided hike to experience moonlit landscapes and explore how animals are adapted for nighttime activities. Ages 18+. $5 per person, $4 per member. Prepaid registration required.
Homeschool Fridays: Walk the Wetlands
Friday, March 25, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Use your senses to explore the wetland and learn about the animals that live here. Enjoy a puppet show, animal inquiry activity, and a guided hike. Designed for grades K-2. $4 per person. Prepaid registration required.
That’s Gross!!
Saturday, March 26, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Sometimes nature is just gross! Let’s explore the ‘yuckier’ (but really cool!) things that some animals do to survive. Gross activities will include a presentation, dissecting owl pellets and going on a scat hike. Geared for ages 6 and up. $5 per person, $4 per member. Prepaid registration required.
