Fountain Creek Regional Dog Park

The Fountain Creek Regional Dog Park will undergo renovations beginning September 18, 2024, and is expected to be completed by mid-November. These improvements will enhance the park’s accessibility in compliance with ADA standards, ensuring that a greater segment of the public can enjoy and utilize the facility. During this period, the main gate will be closed; however, a temporary gate will be installed on the west side of the property for access. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience.

Fox Run Regional Park Restroom Closure and Construction

El Paso County Parks is pleased to share that the Oak Meadows and Pine Meadows restrooms are getting a remodel!

In our ongoing commitment to enhancing accessibility within our parks, both restrooms will be closed from July 1 through November 2024 to undergo renovations that will include the installation of ADA-compliant fixtures, sinks, and wastewater systems. Additionally, we will be upgrading our parking lots and sidewalks to ensure full compliance with ADA standards.

During construction, both restrooms and the sand volleyball court will be fenced off and closed. Portable restrooms will be available in both parking lots.

El Paso County Parks is working to minimize disturbances to the public in the evenings and on weekends. Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday 7 a.m. -3:30 p.m.

Fox Run Wedding Gazebo and Ponds Closure and Construction

The Wedding Gazebo will be closed for construction and redesign starting September 2024. Construction will include draining and relining of Aspen Lake. The closure will continue through the end of 2025.

Clear Spring Ranch

Pineries Open Space

Please avoid areas that are fenced off and watch out for repair crews and equipment.

Avoid using trails during and after flood watches and warnings.

Northgate Trailhead Permanent Closure

Permanent Trailhead Closure: The Northgate Parking Area and Trailhead that provides access to the New Santa Fe Trail have been permanently closed by the Air Force Academy due to the construction of the new visitors center. The nearest trailhead with open access will be Baptist Road. Once the new visitors center has been completed a new trailhead with parking will be implemented. The trail will remain open during this time. Unchanged: Permanent Trailhead Closure: The Northgate Parking Area and Trailhead that provides access to the New Santa Fe Trail have been permanently closed by the Air Force Academy due to the construction of the new visitors center. The nearest trailhead with open access will be Baptist Road. Once the new visitors center has been completed a new trailhead with parking will be implemented. The trail will remain open during this time.
