Join Bear Creek Nature Center for our 10th Annual Bear Run–a family-friendly 5k and 3k fun run & walk! All new runners get a bear suit to keep and wear during the run. Returning runners can dust off their bear suit from previous Bear Runs and register at a discounted rate. Register your dog to run and compete in a dog costume contest!

9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.- Check-in
10:00 a.m. Costume Contest- Embellish your bear suit for a chance to win prizes!
10:30 a.m. Bear Yoga– Join our Sponsors from Peaceful Warriors to stretch those bear limbs before hitting the trail!
11:00 a.m.– Run begins!
The run will take place on the beautiful trails of Bear Creek Regional Park. The course contains some uphill and downhill sections.
Costume Contest
Embellish your suit to win prizes by entering in the costume contest. Contestants will go on paw-rade to show off their costume and non-contestants will vote on their favorite via write-ins! Costume contest winners will be announced prior to start of race. Prizes can be picked up immediately following the race.
Categories and prizes:
Best Individual Costume- Basket of local goodies
Best Group Costume- 2-hour pavilion rental in El Paso County Park
Best Canine Costume- A basket of items that will make tails wag
Cost to Register:
New Adult Runner (Includes one-size-fits-all bear onesie): $65*
New Child Runner (Includes child size bear onesie): $45*
Returning Adult Runner: $25

MER– Nonprofit of the Month
Friends of El Paso County Nature Centers is MER’s October non-profit of the month! Throughout October, all proceeds from the $5 shelf will be donated back to the Nature Centers. Stop by the store at 2222 Bott Avenue and find your next adventure from the $5 shelf!
