Kids’ Morning Out: Nature’s Small Gifts

Caregivers, drop off your children (ages 6-12) off for a morning to explore the “small things” in nature. We’ll be using microscopes and other devices to closely observe small, natural items, do a craft, and spend time hiking to discover all the small gifts that nature gives us. Great American Cleanup & Bear Creek Restoration Crew

Community Science: Butterfly Monitoring

Calling all community scientists! Want to learn more about butterflies and how you can contribute to the conservation of these important pollinators? A Lepidopterist from the Denver Butterfly Pavilion will show us how to identify different butterflies and survey
our site. After, we will focus on larval populations and breeding sites of the Monarch butterfly– a candidate for the Endangered Species Act that passes through our
Milkweed Meadow annually. Bring plenty of water and a lunch.

Homeschool Friday: Awesome Arthropods

Not “bugs,” arthropods! Learn about insects, spiders, and some of their other creepy crawly relatives with a puppet show, arthropod activity, and a guided hike to catch wild arthropods. Designed for grade K-2.

Pre-registration is required for most programs. Space may be limited. General cancellation policy: No refunds are given for public program registrations unless the program is cancelled by the Nature Centers. In the case of severe or dangerous weather staff may deem the conditions unsafe and may reschedule or cancel an event or program. All refunds will be paid by check. Check refunds may take 3-4 weeks to process.
