Black Forest Regional Park Tennis Court Construction Project

El Paso County Parks will be replacing the two tennis courts in Black Forest Regional Park. The existing courts will be removed at the end of September and construction of two new post-tension concrete courts will follow. Concrete, fencing, and temporary lines will be completed in 2022. Court surfacing will be completed in Spring 2023 once nighttime temperatures are consistently above 40 degrees. The new courts will be lined for tennis and pickleball. Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.

Bear Creek Restroom Replacement

El Paso County Parks identified the replacement of the restroom building in the 2014 park master plan. The new restroom will feature expanded restroom facilities and storage, improved ADA access, and will utilize energy-efficient materials and touchless fixtures. The design of the new restroom is currently under development and was finalized by December 2020. Demolition and construction began in spring 2021 with construction completed by fall of 2022. During construction portable restrooms will be provided for public use. The overall construction budget for the restroom is $448,000 and is being funded by $310,000 from the conservation trust fund, $63,000 from ballot initiative 1A, and $75,000 from regional park fees.
